Khedira out with ankle injury for Real Madrid

Madrid, Spain –  Real Madrid confirmed on Wednesday that midfielder Sami Khedira will miss an undetermined amount of time because of an ankle injury.

Khedira twisted a ligament in his right ankle during Real's 1-0 win over Malaga in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday, and with the club likely to face Barcelona in the next round of the competition, the Germany international's participation is very much in question.

The 24-year-old has appeared in 18 matches in all competitions for Jose Mourinho's side this season, netting one goal.
